BAMS

BAMS stands for Bachelor in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery which  is a 5.5 years course equivalent to MBBS in the related field. Its aim to train a competent Ayurvedic Doctor capable of providing Ayurveda Health Services needed for development of Ayurveda, to enable the students to identify and manage health care at health institutions and community, to enable the students to inoculate analytical, problem solving, practical/clinical and communication skills and to establish interaction with Government and Non-Governmental Agencies to promote holistic health in the community.

It consists of 3 professionals of 18 months each, basic sciences, pre-clinical and clinical subjects with laboratory and hospital practice respectively. After completion of 4.5 years academic course one has to complete 1 year compulsory rotating internship in different department of Ayurvedic Hospitals or Ayurveda Teaching Hospital.

At present Ayurveda Campus is conducting BAMS program as a branch of Institute of Medicine (IOM) under Tribhuvan University (T.U.) and  Institute of Ayurvedic (IOA) under Nepal Shansskrit University ( NSU).
